Tennis is starting to find a way back. The ATP has released a new update to the provisional 2020 calendar. The calendar is subject to change based on ongoing evaluations related to health and safety. As well as international travel policies, and government approval of sporting events.

The new revised schedule seeks to resume the ATP Tour after suspension in March due to COVID-19.

According to the updated calendar, the 1000 Masters in Rome will be played a week before. This was the date assigned to the Mutua Madrid Open, which has been canceled. The final of the 1000 Masters in Rome will be held on Monday.

The Italian Internationals in Rome will also be played a week earlier. After Rome, the ATP 500 in Hamburg and the European Open will be played in the week before Roland Garros.

This updated schedule also includes the final leg of the schedule. Which includes the indoor tour of Europe and tournaments. This in different cities such as St. Petersburg, Vienna, Paris and Sofia.

Among the changes, the Saint Petersburg tournament will be upgraded to ATP 500 for the 2020 edition.

All tournaments will be held under strict guidelines related to health and safety. Social distancing, and low or no spectator numbers at the tournaments will be followed.
