Hello everyone! In the last post we talked about the best moments of tennis history; well, this week our post is going to talk about the top 5 golf moments. Could you guess which og them they are? Of couse, we hace different important characters you may recognize. Let start!
Top 5 moments in golf
1.Tiger Woods completes the “Tiger Slam”
As you may know, the incredible Tiger Woods was the first person who won four consecutive major golf championships in 2001. But this is not the only memorable victory if Woods, for example, his incredible chip shot at the Masters in 2005. He will always be remembered because of that moment. Moreover, that shot is considered one of the most difficult ones to be executed in golfing history.
2. Seve Ballesteros in 1979
In 1979, Seve Ballesteros took part of the British Open. He did not have lucky and threw the ball to a car instead of the 16th hole, so it seemed he was going to loose. Instead, he used all his magestuosity and he threw again his ball to the hole, getting the victory of the tournament and getting to be a legend once more.
3. Ian Woosnam’s victory in 1991
In 1991, Ian Woosnam won the Masters of Augusta and was named as the officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1992.
4. Phil Mickleson wins his first major
In 2004, Phil Mickelson won the Masters in what was his 47th major golf tournament with an 18-foot birdie on the final hole. Mickelson has previously finished second in three major championships and was third in five others, including the previous three Masters tournaments.
5. USA’s thrilling Ryder Cup victory at Brookline
It was one of the best comebacks in Rider Cup history. The most decisive moment happened at the 17th hole between Justins Leonnard and José María Olazábal.
